Per Uniform Guidance, purchases of $10,000 or more that use federal funds require certain federal compliance checks at the time of purchase. University of Arizona Purchasing Policy 7.1 documents these requirements.

On July 31, 2019, the IRS issued its final rule allowing employers to voluntarily truncate Social Security numbers on copies of Form W-2 issued after December 31, 2020.

These benefits enable us to maintain a competitive position in the workforce and among higher education institutions. Maintaining stable rates for these expenses is challenging, given increasing costs and employment changes.

Purchasing Card Transactions (PCDOs) auto-approval dates will be covered during the University Closure (December 24, 2020 through January 3, 2021). Please disperse this message to your respective Purchasing Card reconcilers and PCard cardholders.

During the closure period, December 24, 2020 through January 3, 2021, there will be no mail delivery to main campus. Departments that wish to pick up mail on December 28, 2020 through December 31, 2020, need to notify Postal Services.

In response to the continuation of remote work, Financial Services has created Best Practices for Remote Work Expenses. These guidelines are designed to assist with unique circumstances while employees temporarily work remotely. University policy ensures expenses are reasonable, business-related, prudent, and serve a public purpose.
