Changes to Object Codes for Non-Capital Assets

As previously communicated, effective July 1, 2021, the Financial Services Property Management team will discontinue issuing N-tags for all University-owned non-capital computers and computer peripherals costing less than $5,000 with no sponsor funding.

Effective July 19, 2021, Object Code 5720 should no longer be used for equipment purchases.

  • For all equipment purchases between $1,000 and $5,000 on full or partial sponsor funding, use the new Object Code 5722 (Non-Cap Sponsor Funded Equip - UA Owned). These assets will be identified by tags starting with the letter P (P-Tags).
  • NOTE: Any FY 2022 sponsor-funded purchases recorded on Object Code 5720 between July 1, 2021 and July 16, 2021 must be changed to Object Code 5722. These changes can be made using a General Error Correction (GEC) or Distribution of Income of Expense (DI) beginning on July 19, 2021.
  • For all equipment purchases less than $5,000 with no sponsor funding, use Object Code 5760 (Non-Capitalized Equipment – EDP).

Non-Capital Purchases with Asset Tags
Effective July 19, 2021, only the following Object Codes will be issued an asset tag:

  • Object Code 5721: Non-Cap Inventoried Equip-Sponsor Owned
  • Object Code 5722: Non-Cap Sponsor Funded Equip-UA Owned
  • Object Code 5725: Non-Capital Inventoried Vehicle-UA owned
