1. Kuali Project Update

  • Friday, October 13th, marked the day that the baseline modules were available for release. In addition to the partner schools, 12 schools and vendors, split pretty evenly, have downloaded Kuali Financials to date .

  • Check out the release notes, technical documentation and user documentation available from the Kuali Financials Download site at http://kuali.org. The User Documentation is - well - wow.

  • Discussions are underway to set up an instance of Kuali Financials here  in order to complete a Conference Room Pilot by the end of February -  details will be provided as we have them.

  • Arizona is hosting the third Kuali Days. Kuali Days offers an opportunity to learn about Kuali Financials from others outside Arizona who have been involved in the development and functional design. While Kuali Days is intended to give nonpartner schools and vendors information, this is the first time that it will be hosted outside Indiana and the first time that it can be easily attended by members of a partner school who are not currently using Indiana's Financial Information System (FIS) the basis for Kuali Financials. Everyone is
    invited to attend - https://www.eventinterface.com/clients/kuali/

  • As things wind down from a whirlwind couple of weeks of testing, documentation preparation and code clean up, we are preparing for phase 2A development, several functional groups are completing functional specs, the AP/Purchasing module maintenance screens have been moved into the test area, the mocks of the Proposal Routing sheet are nearly final.

  • Additional hands on Kuali Lab sessions will be scheduled in December

3. Biz.Comm, Best Practices - Check out the "Business Meeting Expense Form", the latest addition to the Biz.Comm Best Practices page. The College of Nursing designed the form to provide documentation for Business Meeting/Recruitment expense. The form is available as a word document and may be customized for your department.

4. Frequently Asked Questions -

--Your Question: We are working on a project for another department; we are funding most of the project, however, there were a few items the dept. wanted to purchase themselves and have us reimburse the cost. This Dept. is an IDB unit. Can we just send them the IDB for  reimbursement or do we have to use the Request For Accounting Assistance
process?

--Reply: You will need to use a Request for Accounting Assistance to move the expense from your account to theirs. IDBs should be used for true sales between departments.

FSO maintains a database of frequently asked questions. Visit our FAQ page at http://www.fso.arizona.edu/fso/fm/faq.asp to review previously asked questions, search by category or keyword, or ask a question of your own.
