1. Internal Control - This month's Internal Control feature is Information and Communication. Managers must be able to obtain reliable information to determine their risks and communicate policies and other information to those who need it. 2. 2005-06 Fiscal Year-End Processing - Another fiscal year end is approaching, both academically and financially. Information for ensuring that financial transactions are processed correctly can be found in the Year-End Processing Memo found at:

3. Year-End Reporting of Inventories, Accounts Receivable and Deferred Revenues
If your department has inventories, receivables or deferred revenues, it is your responsibility to ensure that these items are properly reported to the Financial Services Office by July 5, 2006.

4. Online RBC's for FY07 - Online RBC is now available for creating FY07 Budget Transfers for State and Allocated accounts. Cash transfers and budget changes for other types of accounts for FY07 will be accepted beginning July 17, 2006. See: http://www.budgetoffice.arizona.edu/online.html. As a reminder, templates can be created at anytime and then submitted as an RBC on the appropriate date. If you have any questions, please contact your Budget Analyst or the Budget Office at 621-1634.

5. Kuali Project Update

  • Kuali Test Drive demoed during the Business Community Open Forum- http://kualitestdrive.org (download the driver's manual first).

  • Release I code freeze to occur June 30th, followed by a 3 month quality assurance period.

  • Procurement Card eDoc - the first version of the Kuali Procurement card should be ready for testing this week. Sample data contains 30 transactions from College of Public Health (COPH) and Arizona Research Labs (ARL).

  • Hands on testing sessions with Kuali in the training lab will be held during June and July to get some user focused testing - details coming.

  • Save the date - Kuali Days coming to Tucson - November 14th and 15th.

6. eForms - W-9 added
A new W-9 Form has been added to the eForms page. This is the IRS Form used to provide the University’s Tax Identification Number to those who will pay the University. The form is available from the eForms page at http://uabis.arizona.edu/eforms/. ISW access is required.

7. Frequently Asked Questions - Training Available

Your Question: What training is available on processing Distribution of Deposit Forms (DDF)?

Reply: The Cash Handling and Receiving Class covers processing DDFs. This class is recommended by Internal Audit for people who are accepting monies and/or making deposits on behalf of the University.
